Manifesto

Why we do this, and how.

Why we do this

The technology industry is rapidly reorganizing itself around a single relationship: business to AI. Content crawled for training. Attention harvested for inference. Workflows restructured around machine throughput. The human user is increasingly incidental to the systems built in their name.

We think people need their own infrastructure for this era.

Creative Mayhem builds practical tools for a post-platform world. A studio for software. A lab for autonomous systems. A consultancy where it helps. The goal is to keep human circuits alive and generative. Not nostalgic, not decorative, not sentimental. Productive, while the rest of the stack moves on without them.

Transparency

Trust comes from visibility and comprehension. We publish Software Bills of Materials. We publish EU AI Act transparency statements. Our proprietary binaries are proprietary. Everything underneath them is on GitHub. When a regulator asks “what is in this software,” the answer is already public.

Autonomy

Control belongs to the operator, not the vendor. Where architecture permits, the product runs on the user's hardware. rAIdio.bot generates music on the user's GPU. vAIdeo.bot does the same with video. Where software must run on infrastructure, we run it on substrates that cannot be unilaterally switched off. Where we sell, we sell tools, not subscriptions. One payment. You own it.

Resilience

Systems should serve human intent even under stress or failure. Doomscroll.fm has been running continuously since July 2025. Hours of original news, music, and commentary every day, across multiple channels, to ninety-one countries, without a human operator. That is not marketing. It is demonstration. Autonomous media infrastructure can be built, operated, and sustained by a single studio. If it can run, others can run.

Provenance

Every file our generative tools create carries a cryptographic signature: who made it, when, how, with what. C2PA on by default. This is not watermarking the internet. It is giving creators proof of authorship they can defend. To platforms. To collaborators. To courts.

About the studio

Creative Mayhem is small, independent, and based in Berlin. Not venture-funded. Not platform-dependent. Every decision we make, we make alone. Nothing we ship requires permission from the institutions that would prefer we did not ship it. That is the structural feature that makes the work possible.
